    1st year Actuarial Studies 2006

    explain i-banks to me..

Hehe...I was jking...but there is a logic to the argument: Generally, investing = gambling = a vice that is seen as wrongful behaviour by society i.e. immoral by definition Note: Just because there is risk doesn't mean it can't be immoral, i.e. stealing is immoral yet you risk gettin caught...

    Law school leeches

Heh, assignment time is miracle time. All your worst enemies suddenly decide to become your best friends (well, up till the due date anyways)...lol My way of handling them is to tell them I don't have any notes (since I actually never take any notes...hehe). And if you do decide to help...

    Timetabling first year law units

Yeah most law lectures are recorded, though you may find units/electives that few people do aren't. It depends, can you read a law book for 16 hrs straight, just before exams? If not, you're prolly better off making sure you're no more than a week behind in the readings + if you're up to...

    acst workload

Prolly more than HSC, in terms of quality, but about the same in quantity (really depends, some pl who get 99+ struggle with the course, quite a few drop out early). 2nd year seems to be the biggest hurdle for most pl

Note: For some lecturers (especially the senior ones and professors) plagarism often equates to using material outside the course, in particular, sources that contradict their point of view (which are conveniently absent from their compiled unit materials). Whilst, paraphrasing whole slabs of...

    Scholarship APP

You should say that you will utilize the aid/opportunites provided by the scholarship to its maximum potential. Use a tone of appreciation/gratitude etc. That you perceive yourself to be the one that will benefit the most from the scholarship (given your skills, aspirations, hidden talents etc)...

    NVP and finance

Yup, its common for people to mis-type NPV as NVP Net Present Value: the discounted (usually by the interest rate) value of all future cash flows of a financial scheme/product/instrument etc.

    2006 Units

Query about transferring(defecting) to Macq. Acst program.

Basically the prereqs for the control cycle are the 300 level ACST units (not all of them) . You need CCI before CCII as well

    Actuarial Studies + Law...worth it?

Heh, I decided to do law and ACST at Macquarie simply cause it was closer to home (ima so lazy, actually my was UAI was more than enough to get into the combined law/acst at UNSW). Btw you might want to check the 5 yr thing at UNSW, not sure if that program includes the part IIs, as the Macq...
