BSc/BEd @ USyd, first preference (both this year and last). Their enrol page looks to be dead at the moment though, although I have accepted and validated my offer.

Hey Stazi, well done on that - just a question: your course's UAI was fairly high this year and your NRSL was below that, what does that exactly mean?

the NRSL has nothing to do with the UAI. The UAI is purely indicative of the demand for the course for HSC students. There were likely transfer places left by students transferring to other courses from com (lib), or simply put, the quality of transfer candidates was low, which is good for me. I know that commerce (lib studies) had 5 places for transfer candidates last year.

Thanks for clearing that up. I knew NRSL has nothing to do with UAI, just wanted more background info into how you were successful.

There is also a slight possibility that the uni decided to add some bonus points as I wrote to a pretty high-up guy last year in my faculty after I didn't get the transfer. He commented on how amazed he is at my work experience, uni community involvement, and grades. I also have become close to some others working in the faculty, who may have somehow factored into the decision. That, or I just got lucky, which is the more likely scenario :p

question: now that we've transferred do we have to offically un-enrol from our old uni ourselves or is this done automatically after enrolling at our new uni?

Transfer to UTS was unsuccessful. God, don't know what to do right now and I don't want to go back to my current uni. I had to fulfil additional criteria like azn_gangsta81 did (not same course though). I don't even know if applying at the end of this year is even worth it, I mean it feels wierd and it feels like I'm old.

For USYD's Faculty of Eco+Business:

Discontinuing old degree

"If you have successfully enrolled in your new degree you can advise the
Student Information Office by email (from your University issued
email account) that you wish to discontinue your previous degree or you
can come in to the SIO to discontinue it in person.
In you email, please include your full name, student ID and indicate
the degree you wish to discontinue."

Obtaining Credit

"Please submit an undergraduate credit application to transfer some/all
of the units completed under your previous degree. A copy can be
downloaded here www.econ.usyd.edu.au/forms/"
