Hi,

Can anyone who has previously done CSCI204 and CSCI212, give us a bit of detail of the subjects, whether they are hard?, challenging?, easy? Is there much programming involved? I assume there is a bit in 204. Also what are the lecturers like that run the subjects? I think for 2006 its Ian Piper, Luke McAven for 204 and Daniel F. Saffioti, Minjie Zhang for 212. (Just going off the subject outlines)

lol Minjie Zhang is cool.

They are changing 204 for next year so I can't really comment on it.

When I did it, it was hard only 2 HD. I can tell you that.

204 has traditionally been one of the most difficult 200-level CSCI. And yes, there's a lot of programming involved there. I think in my whole stay at UOW I did the most coding in 204 under Daniel Saffioti.

But it's changed now. It's no longer the subject we did. :(

So they just changed the name for Autumn 2006? It makes sense, since you would've all done CSCI124 as Object Programming.

If that's the case you'll love it. Learn lots and you'll be fine. :)

Pretty much ay, i would of thought it would of been easier keeping the old name until it actually starts the new programme. When i re-enrolled i was a bit wtf!
