is it really worth it doing 4u maths next year for the infamous high scaling?
Im doin alright in math but not the best. I get around 70% in 3u and 90% in 2u (haven't got my yearly marks back yet)
Does it require alot of work? What about combined with 3 sciences? Is that crazy?
Comments, suggestions and/or past experiences from people who have done this is appreciated:tongue:

Hmmm 70% in 3U.

You might find 4U a bit too much, but if you really want to do it then do it - just be prepared to work extra hard.

And doing it with 3 sciences is fine.

Do it.

E4 for 4U : root -1 = i.

But then you gotta do stuff with it.

Hey I''ve already started 4 unit maths with all 3 sciences. It's not as hard as people make it out to be but I suggest that you study ahead of your class to keep on track.

E4...?

Oh must be a performance band. E4, E5 and E6, right?

Ah I see... these differing band things confuse me.

Well, I suppose I might as well try my hand at 4 unit - if you do 3 unit, you might as well!

tbh donig 3unit alone is a waste of time.

4unit so high scalers count, with 3unit only the ext1 only counts a 1 unit - a waste

do it; once you get the hang of it its easy

the scaling benefit is crazy - top 25% in 4 unit is equivalent to top 1% in phys, chem and eco

You shouldn't really be asking this.. 4U Maths are for people who are truly interested in maths and keen on learning it, the scaling is just an added benefit and it's not really if your in the lower half of the group.. But if your keen and unsure about taking the risk of 4U thats another story.. Just take up the additional unit and work, and if it's not to your liking just drop it. On a similar note, it's been said that when you do 4U you should spend about 60% of your study time on maths, which is a lot of hours.. and if your not bothered to do that then don't bother doing 4U
