I really need some suggestions!
Our AOS is 'Self Change', and I'm finding it really difficult to find a song that relates to self change.
It can't just be any old song, it has to relate to Gwen Harwoods poem 'In the Park'.
The poem's about a woman with children, who bumps into an ex lover. She reflects on her past, and wishes she had freedom from her children...
ANY suggestions are appreciated! Thanks!

Has to relate as in common themes/values?

IMO could do anything which relates to self change because you can generally find common themes between any texts. (as long as its not BEP or anything :p)

Good songs for lyrics are:

Hotel California - eagles (could say it's metaphorical)

alive- pearl jam

better man - John Butler Trio

Couldn't think of anything completely relevant

David Bowie- Changes

But I strongly suggest not doing a song for a related text.

A song is fine as long as you're sure you will have enough material to write about, and are able to write a good extended response relating the two texts to your AOS.

A song is essentially poetry, so there is nothing wrong with that.

Note: The two texts don't necessarily have to be similar, you can contrast/compare the differences between them, relating the two opposites as a focal point for your response.

A friend did 'Arms Wide Open' by Creed. Its about welcoming a baby into the family, could relate to 'In the Park'

and don't listen to the cocks who are saying not to do a song. just as long as you're confident with it and can ace that shit... really doesn't matter hey
