WHAT do u guys think of this?

http://www.americasarmy.com/

it was on lateline last night ( i was watchin 'the gift at the time') so i thought id check it out!

basically they let u play this fully sick game online i think for free! the whole point is to see who is suitable for recruitment in the army coz the recruitment levels are soo low! and there's all this stuff on harassment and all that. they even made the programmers attend boot camp and all that stuff. and i heard on lateline that after playing the game for a while they tell you what kinda soldier they want you to be (or what u ought to be), i dunno, sounds tempting but i gotz other things right now - like life actually :uhhuh:

what's the point of having a first-person suicider? blow up a place, respawn then blow up another place?

Well if it is competing in the same area you only get to spawn once per round (around 10 minutes :p)

This is hardly news its been around for more than a year, in fact six months ago the herald ran a feature article on computer games being used to recruit and to train soldiers.

The game itself it should be noted features missions in muslim countries miscellaneous eg dusty, minarets, fanatics, etc

Older actually. Game came out in 2002. Played it for quite a while, but better games have come out since.

Probably before President Bill Clinton's term expires he'll put a stop to it.
