I have a friend who's studying it but I've got no idea what the course is like >_<!
But I just had a clinical placement where there were occupational therapists. These occupational therapists were working in a disability setting for children. They told me that they do a variety of things e.g. help children with Autism who had sensory problems such as being over sensitive to touch; putting dangerous things in their mouths etc. Another occupational therapist was helping a parent of a child who had a disability in terms of finding a suitable pram, wheelchair etc.
I've got no idea about job prospects, but here's the NSW Health site where you can get an idea of the salary I guess?

Look at Occupational Therapist Level 1/2 -> for new grads
If the link above doesn't work, try this one:

If all else fails type on google "NSW Health jobs"
Hope that helps!!
