Was just reading a prac guidebook, and it has a lot of chem experiments involving lead compounds or lead itself. Anyone here ACTUALLY use lead in chem? or are alll your schools all about OHS etc haha. Or is my book outdated from the time it didnt matter that much about OHS as long as you learned something?

I think lead is fine, in metals in prelim we were using it. I don't see why it would be any different.

Better not touch anything in chemistry if your worried about that! Seriously though, just wash your hands after pracs and before you eat and you'll live/survive/mutate/withstand/endure/exist.
