Are any schools studying Joseph Benedict Chifley? (1 Viewer)

my history teacher says less than 0.1% of the NSW would even study Joseph Benedict Chifley due to a lack of resources in comparison to Albert Speer where more than +65% of the state are competing for who has a better knowlegde of such an influential man

Nope, doing Albert Speer :) But I wouldn't mind doing Chifley. It's just that I don't think our textbook room has any resources on him :/

Seriously, who wants to study Chifley (Australian history = ew) when you could study a leading Nazi?

Btw, I'm doing Speer next year.

our teacher made us purchase a biography called "Chifley: A Day" by David Day. and Hey at least im a pure aussie studyin Australian political socialism.

Rather than the lack of resources, I think most schools choose Speer over Chifley because he's been (comparatively) more influential in the modern world.

On the off-hand, I've never understood why schools would choose Australian history in senior years! Yes, it is interesting but wouldn't it be more enlightening to learn about something substantial, such as Germany, Russia etc rather than the microcosm of Australia?
