are the commerce and law degrees in UQ good? (1 Viewer)

as above. how good are they in comparable to other top unis like (umelb/monash/syd/nsw). also anyone who's doing it, how many contact hours do we get, plus how many majors can i do in the commerce degree?

My friend that does law/arts had 14 hours a week last semester, like wtf... I thought law would involve alot more hours but obviously not haha. It's mostly reading through crap yourself.

haha.. thanks for ur reply.. funny thing tho, queensland ppl aren't really active here.. and it doesn't seem that anyone does comm/law here.. sheesh..

well if visit the UQ law school website and the course info for b.Com, that should answer all your questions. in a nutshell though, UQ certainly isn't as prestegies as the top universities like U.syd etc but rest assured that factor alone would hardly affect your employment prospects. at the end of the day, we all know that career success depends on you, not your uni. UQ law school's reputation is up there with the top tier skools and it has produced quite a few chief justices of the high court. what more could u want?! hope that helped. oh and btw for commerce it's accounting, finance or information systems. most ppl choose accounting but its boring as shit, not that finance is any more interesting *spews*.

I'm tempted to disagree with that. I'd say that UQ would be somewhere near the top of 'Most Prestigious Universities in Australia', if there was such a list.

yea there shouldn't have been an 'etc' lol. i meant it isn't no.1/no.2 but definitely in the top 5.

i really want to go to UQ next year to do art/social science. and about the rankings...you might find this interesting:

that's not very useful without the criterias

la trobe in the top 10 doesn't sound right...
