UNSW uses the HSC Plus system.

Eng adv Band 5 = 1 Bonus Point
Eng adv Band 6 = 2 Bonus Points
Maths 2U Band 5 = 1 Bonus Point
Maths 2U Band 6 = 2 Bonus Points
Maths 3U Band 5 = 1 Bonus Point
Maths 3U Band 6 = 2 Bonus Points.

HSC Plus is capped at 5 Bonus Points and u can't use it for Medicine or Law (if you were planning to go Com/Law)

So, 91 would be the minimum really.

It would not be wise to aim for a bare minimum and then rest your hopes on bonus points.

aim for 95+

i was in a pretty similar situation, and i knew i'd get in with an atar of around 91 and 5 (almost guaranteed) bonus marks

but i changed my mind with 3 months of the hsc to go and wanted to do comm/law.. and so i adjusted my aim to 97. And so its useful to have extra atar marks in case

Definitely aim as high as you possibly can!!

You don't want to regret it if you only get the bare minimum and not get the bonus points either. the ATAR does vary and change from year to year
