ATAR estimate - much appreciated! (1 Viewer)

Okay so I got an ATAR estimate from school, but the consensus is, even amongst my teachers/deputy principal/careers advisor that the mark was quite unrepresentative of my ability, because my small-cohort subjects weren't scaled correctly. So I come to BoS

School rank (2010): 2

English Advanced: 12/160, 88%
English Ext 1: 10/102, 88%
English Ext 2: 9/28
Ancient History: 1/9, 99%
Modern History: 7/51, 93%
History Extension: 2/23, 98%
Italian Beginners: 3/7, 88%

With Italian, to give you an indication, almost every member of last year's cohort at my school got above 95 in their final HSC mark, and I'd say we're about as good as them.

Its difficult, but considering those ranks, I'd say 99.4-99.8. I'm going to even go as far as saying you're an outside chance at .95. Even though I think your school wont be 2nd again this year (Baulko looks set to regain 2nd place), I think you guys will still finish in the top 5. So going off that, I'd say mid-high 99's is a fair estimate. I'm not really sure which units wont count for you. It is important to note that all ATAR estimates are unreliable (whether given on BOS or by your school) as they are often inaccurate.

mm yeah i think we should get aruond 4 maybe even 5 if we are lucky, but our tail is terrible and probably is as bad, if not worse than last years tail

definitely gonna get at least 99 so thats a pretty inaccurate estimate as you said

98.35 is way too conservative in my opinion. I'd be very suprised if you didnt get at least 99.
