At least they're taking it to the courts though. Let's hope they come to the right decision.

Wouldn't the company be allowed to disallow whoever they like from advertising?

Regardless, this behaviour from atheists bums me. It's pointless, and only serves to turn religious people against them, not allow them to see whatever justification and point there is to their thinking.

Why is religion being advertised? Why not just keep religion off buses/advertisements altogether?

As if some guy's going to be walking along and see sum atheist bus and be like 'oh fuck it i might as well be an atheist now', more likely it'll just give smug stuck up atheists like myself feelings of self importance as we're reminded how much more rational we are than the other peons in this world.

you would have to be well retarded to not think that a lot of wars have been started due to differences in religion

So what happens if the atheists win? Are the bus companies forced to put the msg on their busses?

Yeah, they should use money for other projects, not money-wasting schemes like this. Let the religious organizations waste all their money putting stupid one-liners on buses. Seriously, the day someone is indoctrinated by a bus message is the day I eat my own... ummm... nose.

Re: Atheist message misses local bus

I'm astounded that after the British campaign ended up with something like 136,000 pounds (instead of the initial aim of 5,500) they ended up spending the excess on further campaigning in the form of hundreds of buses and some handouts.

Wouldn't it be more rational to put it to better use?

If your aim is to raise awareness of atheism, no, that's exactly the type of thing (more advertising) you'd want to spend money on.

I thought atheism was a 'non-prophet' organisation

I suppose that the donors gave their money for that purpose. I just feel that were it given to a humanitarian cause it'd reflect more positively on the atheist philosophy than blanket advertising.
