I don't think thats the case. I just think that people with talent wouldn't audition for something like Australian Idol - I know a heap of people who can sing far far better than anyone in the last series but they won't audition because they don't think they're good enough.

Two girls from my highschool went to the auditions last year. Both of them had "nice" voices, but apparently that isn't enough because niether of them got to the actual judges stage. So people, it seems hard, but best of luck to all of you who's going.

My friends and family have been pestering me to go since first season but theres no wait in hell Ima wait in that line especially since there is a HUGE possibility of being rejected in first round! *sniffle*
