Ipod Shuffle 1GB, 512MB
Creative muvo TX 512MB, 1GB
Creative N200

What's best? Sound quality and menu wise? I know there is no display on the shuffle, what about on the creative's (ie. is there a screen where you can select your music without having to go through everything)?

I have the Muvo TX 256MB and overall it isn't too bad for the features you get with it. Looks pretty cool as well. Actually the main reason I bought it last year was because of the LCD screen that came with it and the fact it could double up as a storage system and mp3 player. it's lightweight and can fit pretty easily in your palm.Sound quality is quite good and changing songs is pretty simple - you just turn a small knob.

The player also allows you to change the playmode (repeat track, shuffle, etc.), equalizer, settings, delete, record your voice and even a lock feature (which are all accesible through the screen). using 1 AAA battery, I think I can play around 7-8 hrs of it. One thing about it that kind of puts it down though, is when you have it off in your pocket, it might turn on if you bump into something, as the on/off button pretty much sticks a little bit out of the front of the player. So you could end up using a lot of your battery if you aren't aware.

But overall, I found I rarely use the features that come with it, so personally I would go for the ipod shuffle. Then again this was a year ago, when the shuffle haden't come out yet, so meh I just got the muvo instead. I think currently, he shuffle is slightly cheaper as well. So, unless you like to play with buttons and change settings alot, then probably go for the ipod shuffle (sorry don't know too much about the Creative N200).

mine is 256mb, i just bought it some day's ago, it cost 114$ egoman, fits about 50 songs, has fm and also is a flashdrive, seriously if you only need music cheap ones are the way to go, but if you need to store movies and large files and stuff get a large one

Is the creative zen micro out of your range?

I'm guessing yes. But anyway as a general principle creative represents better value for money.
