I do okay in Bio but this upcoming prac on Tuesday has me creeped out. It will involve preparing slides using longitudinal and transverse sections of, I don't know, maybe stained vascular tissue of a celery stalk. The problem is, I can't cut the sections with a scalpel thin enough to be able to use them with a microscope. Anyone have any ideas as to how to get it right quickly and not waste the whole time cutting?

For transverse: Cut the end of the celery off. Then cut a small piece off the end of the celery.

For longitudinal: Just pretend your skinning the celery.
