I have come across sooo many different subheadings and such for business reports, that my brain is now hurting. Does anyone know the preferred format and sub-headings of markers? Or is variety the spice of life in this case...????

oh the business studies related agony...:(

u dont need a conclusion..thats ur executive summary.. sometimes do the executive last... depends how hard or straight forward the q is.
just do executive + body with headings/sub headings.... but make sure the ending is tidy...ie wrap up the mean last heading n put,, the marketing manager etc

i do:
executive summary (with my recommendations in it)
characteristics (with sub-headings)
conclusion (like, 'on behalf of myself and my consultants, we wish you and your business every success for the future, please do not hesitate to contact us..blah blah blah)

and i always get somewhere above 17

I start with 'synopsis', then the body with the usual headings and sub headings, then just for the conclusions i do 'in summary... '

seriously, markers (and ive spoken to some) only stipulations are headings and dot points. headings can be anything that takes ur fancy, they LOVE diagrams and graphs (thats sure to get u good marks) and just use dot points

seriously, so many people stress about business reports but they are really really simple, a primary school person could write one lol!

read some sample band 6 responses for business reports and you'll get the idea of them. The key to writing a business report is to keep it simple. A good layout with dot points, heading, graphs (if relevent) all in a simple language that addresses all the issues in the question.

There are normally 2 or 3 topics (management, finiancial planning, ER, global business & marketing) in the business report. Basically you set it out like so:

* executive summary
* Topic 1
* recomendation to topic 1
* Topic 2
* Recomendation to topic 2
* topic 3
* recomendation to topic 3
