Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on buying international versions of text books that are cheaper than in Australia. For example, one of my text books is about $100 (even with member discount with the uni bookstore and about the same price in other Aussie stores) but only $50 including postage if I buy the international version on eBay. The ISBN is the same and it appears the same but it says it is possible some of the Q&A's at the end of each topic may be different but the book is essentially the same. Has anyone ever bought international textbooks? There is a massive price difference but I don't want to risk buying it if some parts of the book are different.

You better email the course lecturer and see what he/she thinks of the different versions, and whether the Q&A sections make a significant difference.

sometimes they use the books questions for the tutorial hw. but you could just photocopy those bits from the library.....

Get textbooks from third world countries, $100 textbook here is like $2 there.
