5. In your opinion, what is a “cotton wool” kid?
Kids that are uninformed of life in the real world and unable to cope with situations on their own

6. How old do you think is appropriate to let a child do the following? Please write the age/s on the available line.
15 Go to the shopping centre/movie complex with friends.
16-17 Attend a party where parents will not be attending/supervising.
(depends on the town i.e. Small Country Town 8 -- City Suburb 15-16) Walk around their hometown alone.
7-8 Stay overnight at a friend’s house.
10 Use the computer/internet without parental supervision.
15-16 Stay home alone while the rest of the family is out for the night.

it's more the maturity of the child and the situations that are present rather than set ages, e.g. a party where parents will not be attending depends more on the parents trust of their child and of their friends and/or other people that will be attending the party.

7. What do you believe are the top 5 dangers children are most at risk to? (eg; obesity, bad grades, abduction)
1: Obesity
2: Abduction
3: Being unable to achieve expectations set upon them
4: Bullying:kiss:
5: Having no friends (missing out on the benefits of 'belonging' etc.)
8. Please list any child safety/protection products you do/have used/were used when you were a child? Eg, temporary tattoo with identification/contact details?

Parents mobile number written on my arm, using parents phone.

9. Do you believe there a child would be physically or mentally impacted child growing up as a ‘cotton wool’ kid?

Not necessarily, but they may find it harder to cope with life once leaving home.

10. Do you believe there is any impact on the relationship between the child and parent/s growing up as a ’cotton wool’ kid? If yes, please explain what you believe the impact is.

No

11. When do you think it crosses the line from good parenting to overprotecting? Please explain your answer.

____Yes definately, keeping them wrapped in cotton wool means that when they hurt themselves for real they won't know how to deal with it, kids should be able to build resilence up .______________________________________________ ____________
