So basically this year i've been sitting on my ass instead of studying most of the time, got a couple of assessments back and turns out im sitting at just above average. Is it too late to secure a 96+ ATAR if I get my shit together?

Of course it's not too late. You've probably only done like 1-2 assessments for every subject (if even). Just make sure you own everything else and attain the highest internal ranking as possible.

You need to be more specific, i.e. provide us with your school rank and just what assessment marks you have been getting?
