Both of theme explore themes like morality, , power, social pressure, identity, guilt, and they both sort of have themes of internal and external conflict. I just dont know if If we were villains has enough depth to be able to be powerful in analysis.

Im also considering Handmaids Tale, One hundred years of solitude and Exit West.

The only reason im leaning towards If we were villains is that I've already read it.

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME

I read that book but disregarding my personal thoughts on it, I always recommend you pick something short and something that has very extensive resources on it (Litcharts, etc). The book has a SparkNotes but it's not very extensive or in-depth imo. Pick something that'll make things easier for you to do. Pick short classics that only take 30 min to read with a crapton of analysis on them - you're not doing this text ever again after Term 4 so you might as well make it easier for yourself. It's also dependent on your school, however I've noticed certain schools have teachers who prefer it if you pick classics in the literary canon they recognise

I'd recommend you do Donna Tartt's The Secret History, which If We Were Villains is based on. There's likely to be more resources on it online, and your teacher might be more receptive to it, If We Were Villains would be considered less "literary".

I'm kinda agreeing because it is a better book and is considered to be a "modern literary classic" however the major downside of this is that it's a very dense and long book (my copy has 540 pages or something like that) and you want to make the related text and analysing it as short and easy for yourself as possible
