hmm im contemplating about buying a pocketpc for myself but i just wanted to make sure whether or not i can connect wirelessly at uts with it?!

i mean, the one im looking at buying is the HP IPAQ 5500...it has inbuilt 802.11b so im assuming i can
but it says nothing on the wireless website about pocketpcs...

so yeah..can i?

edit: this is more directed at the IT pplz, but feel free to reply if you're not :D

One of my friends has that pocket PC. Considering you need to download software and login to use the UTS wireless connection then I don't think it will work. It's best to try the ITD Help Desk. My friend got it working at USyd I think.

That's crap. I've been eyeing the Sony Clis for a while on the assumption that I'll be able to WiFi at uni with them...

Guess I'll have to check too eh.
