Can anyone help me find a scene in cast away that suits the message that physical journeys test your strength and weaknesses, and force you to make sacrifices that end up transforming you...? I really need help finding THE scene for my assignment.

Yeah, the tooth one's pretty good, also the part where he's on his raft leaving the island, where he has to overcome the waves.

i'd prbly say where he's about to suicide & then gets inner strength by thinking about his wife. The sacrifice he makes is his wife & the physical journey has tested his strength which he comes out trumps

Alternatively you could look at the scene where he comes back to civilisation and he has to bear with the fact that he has lost his wife, yet he remains strong and composed.

Major factor is time, i.e.

how he works as FedEx where timing is important
how he recorded his time on the island
time basically controlled him until the used it as an ally and worked with it
always keeping time with him, pocket watch
knowing the time when it was good to escape the island
