We were given these big words in English...can someone explain to me what it is, and how to go about studying these things?

ask your teacher for the basics of the topic and what you are meant to do in Area of Study to understand this more (they'll probably direct you to the syllabus). Look through the HSC English Forums to see what kinds of things you need to do with 'change' and 'journeys', it's really much more complicated than just a definition.
