ahh dat sucks.. the sample answers are ridiculous(eg in the success one books)
one question of like 7 marks is like a 2-3 page essay
that is inappropriate

Yeah, I don't understand it, they only give you so much space and it will be inappropriate to write any more than the space you're given.

Luckily, I don't do the CSSA trials.

they don't mark you down for writing more than the lines provide for (HSC)

The space is an indication of how long your answer should be.
No Physics answer is expected to be over a page or an essay. The success one answers are trying to give full details and background. They are not exempler answers.

In the HSC, they will not mark you down in writing, too much unless it contradicts the answer.
Eg, if it asks for a hypothesis and you write all you know.

If you run out of room ask for a new booklet and answer in that. Do not write in margins or on other parts of the paper.

I got 78%, average 61% - marked using the right criteria. it was good to have a good set of sample answers to look at - espeially for the band 5/6 questions. Our teacher said the space is the same as the HSC - 2 lines for each mark and that it gives you a guide.

your teacher sounds pretty stupid, almost as if he needs the sample answers to answer it himself...
