Can anyone please tell me how having diabetes affects my chances of doing medicine? It would be much appreciated :)

Shouldn't really affect entry into Medicine, though I'm sure that you could use your experiences with diabetes during your interviews (if the course requires you to do interviews). As far as I know, you wouldn't have to disclose your condition to the faculty anyways.

it's not like, "how does having schizophrenia affect my chances of doing psych?"

they dont ask for ur medical history prior to the interview. they only do a blood test for HIV, Hepatitis etc. once you're in the course. and diabetes is a very manageable condition nowadays.

No it shouldn't, i presume your talking about Type 1, as long as it's managed it should be fine. You only need to report illnesses that could potentially harm yourself, major disabilities and patients/staff such as infectious/blood borne diseases, severe handicap, etc
