I hear the computer science course at ANU is the best there is in Australia. However, I cannot reach the high score required for that course (98). So, I was thinking about doing their B.Sc and major in Computer Science. Is this essentially the same thing? (If so, I'll go for ANU and if not, I might try my luck at UNSW CompSci). Thanks.

I'm still confused (forgot to mention I've already read it prior to posting this).
Besides graduating with a different "title", and the need to maintain HD average, is there any major differences?

correct me if i'm wrong but i think the latter course gives you a guaranteed entry into honours (well assuming things go well). hence the higher uai required.

B.CompSci(Hon) is for kids who like doing research and doing courses which they pick and sculpt themselves. like you'll probably do a course where you do tackle a major project yourself and write a mini-thesis. this degree will give you the help of a lecturer/professor, who will be your mentor and will guide you along the way. and if you finish it and do well, you can go right into doing a PhD.

the science degree is like any old science degree except having a major in Comp Sci.
