I was just wondering what is the difference between a Pass, a pass - and a pass +
Would a pass be around 57(half of 50-64)
a pass - be around 50
a pass + around 61

You're gonna have to be more specific. What uni? What faculty?

I thought a pass was just a pass, like between 50 and 64?

As the Sarah said, ultimately a pass is just a pass, but for assessments that marked on a + or - basis as opposed to the use of an actual mark, what you have said is a fair approximation of the spread within the pass range.

A better marking system is:

Very well done.
Well done.
Excellent.
Very good.
Good.
Fair.
Needs work.
See me please.
You're best off dead.

I'd like to see this sort of marking system used again. It was fun in primary school, and one of my tutors used a subset of the list! So fun!

I don't see the point of writing - or + after grades at uni. If you're not given the exact mark, I figure the word (i.e. pass, credit, distinction etc.) is enough.
