They usually are. The lectures that they give are designed to market the university to potential undergraduate students, so they try to make them interesting/appealing. It's a great opportunity to look around and get a feel for the campus.

The Discovery Days are a great way to get a taste of what university life is like and the fairly different style of teaching.

Don't worry, the nanotech lecture will just be an introduction to the degree and what it entails. It shouldn't be anything too boring/complicated.

Discovery day is when they get alot of year 12s to come to the uni, so the uni can show off.
