yeh it is about $1500 per subject that you have to pay upfront. it is very expensive, but i mentioned this in another thread, what is 1500 now if it is going to make a difference in the future.

if you are planning to defer you other fees, then you need to spend an extra 1500 for 1 yr. 1500/52 = ~30 pw. if you want to you could tutor a couple of people a week and save up enough to go to summer school.

i had ruled out summer school completely because of the price....but what you will realise that it is a good opportunity to improve your GPA.

And the prices are also dropping (from 50 to 45, and from 45 to 40, etc. until it's sold). :D

I'd recommend ECON110 in summer.

- COMP115 wasn't offered this summer because of a lack of numbers. ECON110 is more likely to be offered in summer.

- COMP115 is harder to cram whereas ECON110 is crammable (3 days was enough when I did it last year).

- Alot of people who I knew did ECON110 in summer got HDs and said it wasn't much work (however, they were mostly hardworking anyway)

lol...i was tryin to hint at that i know the person who you sold your stat/econ books to and that person is doing econ111 in summer school.....

edit: ryan...i'd agree with flyin' much better to do econ111 before 110. thats the way it was for actuaries before.

woah, im surprised.

doesn't matter that much, both econ110 and econ111 aren't that hard whichever order you do them in. (note: not hard, but half boring except maybe 111)

so im not disadvantaged in anyway way when im doing econ111 in second semester without having done econ110???

also is it common for many actuarial students to do this???

no disadvantage.

in the old syllabus, the actuarials did econ111, then econ110, then econ201
in the new sylllabus, the actuarials do econ110, then econ111, then econ201

imo, won't make a difference to your grade. (the average actuarial should expect a distinction in econ110 and econ111... )

you're welcome.

anyway, you're first year worries aren't econ... but rather stat, acst (besides 101), and math
