Hey, I have a test for English coming up and we are going to be given an unseen visual and Audio text on the day. Has anyone had this sort of test before with an audio text? If so what did you hear? Thanks, I just dont want to panic on the day
I had an audio exam only once, and it was a reading from a book. I think that for an audio text it most probably would be a speech, radio interview or a text reading. Since its an audio you can research audio/sound techniques like background music to set the mood, change in tone and pauses to create suspense. Good luck!
You might be hearing a speech or an audio extract of someone reading out a story/novel extract, I think you should refer to your assessment notification or ask past students what the unseen text is. Don't panic-just deconstruct the language of what you hear in the audio text as you would for a normal unseen text-remember, deconstruct literary techniques, don't deconstruct pitch, frequency etc of the audio text.
