Our study is on Mad Women.
Currently we are studying the mad women in Jane Eyre and need an ORT for this topic as well, can be male or female.

Any one have any good suggestions

I was thinking The Shining, but does any one know of any other films or novels that have good representations of mad women (Mad = Mental Illness)

Thank You

hmm try Woman in White by Wilkie Collins its pretty long though

deals with madness, identity, illegitimacy, marriage, stereotypes of women etc

hope that helps :)

she's not crazy, but Nell deals with some issues of socialisation and how it affects people.

I did the Shining. it works pretty well.
from what i can remember, a lot of people did Sylvia Plath poems, the movie The Hours as well, and One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest

i would choose plath or woolf. i am certain they both had manic/chronic depression and both committed suicide.

not to mention, they are wondrous to study and their works are orgasmic.
