Hi Guys,
My English trials are very very soon and I have no idea how to prep for it!!!
Especially for the Hamlet module! Starting to really stress out about it!!
How would I practice for the Hamlet module in terms of essay writing?
And could someone also help explain textual integrity? I simply don't understand it :(
One teacher I asked said that textual integrity is about how a scene is significant to the rest of the play in terms of the 5 act play structure. Another teacher also said textual integrity is what makes hamlet worthy of critical study.
So in simple terms what exactly is textual integrity and how would I incorporate it into any essay? Would I make it prominent throughout or would I dedicate a whole paragraph to it?
Please help!
Thanks :)

With Mod B, the textual integrity is not a tack on paragraph, rather it should be at the crux and weaved through your essay. It's a key concept to Mod B imho. In layman's terms, I'd describe textual integrity as a work's use of form, language and techniques to provide unity and value in the text. It's key in Mod B because you are often examining why it is significant to study the text and what interpretations can be drawn.

For Mod B, here are some tips:
1) For this Module more than any other, you need to understand your text as they can be specific. I.e picking a particular act for something like Hamlet or a particular poem for any of the poetry studies. It may help to have some notes that cover techniques, interpretations coupled with critic input for all sections of the play.
2) Practice essay writing for different questions regarding Mod B. A key thing to improve in English is always redraft and redraft, by getting feedback from as many individuals as possible.
3) When you get into the test, take a minute to digest the question. Highlight key words. Make sure you answer the question and don't try and regurgitate an essay that does not fit the question.
