Agreed. With the second option, there is almost a "random" order with what text you are going to talk about, whereis the first option is much more structured and adding the links is perfect.

Hmm.. I would disagree here.
I quite like the 2nd, but I would instead describe it as:

IDEA 1:
-Related 1
- Related 2
- Link both to Core, with reference to the question.

IDEA 2:
-Related 1
-Related 2
-Link to Core etc etc

Otherwise, you spend all your time making links and wasting words in the 2nd half of your essay. Oh and sometimes you can only link one text to the core for a certain idea, which is where it gets tricky... More like Related 1, then link to core... Related 2, then link to core.

Of course, it's your essay, so whatever works best for you :uhhuh:.

I agree with petite chimiste- intergrated is pretty much always better because you can draw links/differences.
