Experience ppl building a motor (opinon) (2 Viewers)

Hey i just wanted to know, people who built a motor or generator in the past year what trouble you seem or have to have face, and wanting to know like a better solution (what to avoid and such) to build a motor or generator :)

we built a dc motor in physics. i was the first one to get it going. i was so proud of myself.

i dnt know whether you want to know it at a school level or whatever, but i found that after the motor had been running for a time, the wire tht was in contact with the brushes melted into the plastic, which in turn caused it to stop working.

other than that, no problems come to mind from my practical experience.

My coil i think was to thin and therefore resulted the coil started to move to the left ><" can anyone explain this????
