Our school has an upcoming assessment (tmrw actually) where we watch part of a visual text about journeys and then answer q's on it....and im guessing some of the questions will be on visual techniques...
does anyone kno some common visual techniques in films to keep my eye out for?

- Camera Angles
- Facial expressions
- Setting
- tone
- Irony
- Body Language
- Lightining

These are the ones i can think of ATM...will tell more if i can remember.

also, keep an eye/ear out for:

-sounds(dialogue,music,voice overs)
-costumes
-flashbacks
-character acting
-juxtaposition
-camera work (closeups, medium and long shots, zoom in)
-lighting (bright or dull, shadows)
