THE state government has bowed to pressure from Fred Nile and will consider removing ethics classes from schools only months after they began.

Mr Nile had vowed to use his party's upper house votes to ''torpedo'' the government's public service wages legislation if it did not consider his demand that ethics classes not be held at the same time as Scripture lessons.

In an indication the government has agreed to negotiate on issues other than ethics as part of the deal, Mr Nile says he is ''encouraged'' by discussions in the meeting about his other private member's bills.

While he would not say which were being discussed, they include bills to repeal legislation allowing same-sex adoption, to ban the possession of X-rated films and to ban alcohol advertising. ''That co-operative spirit is well and truly in place,'' Mr Nile said.

So in exchange for ensuring "public service" parasites like firefighters and nurses can struggle to keep up with the cost of living, we get a theocracy - everyone wins

I don't even understand what the fucking religious have against ethics classes

They're run *at the same time*

So all the religious retarded children get soldiered off into their classes to have their craniums washed out and filled in with nonsense

While the kids who aren't going to be in them anyway just do something else instead

WHY IS THIS SUCH AN ISSUE FOR THESE PEOPLE

The thing is that even the churches don't oppose ethics classes. Nile is on his own. Which makes it rather more depressing that he is able to influence policy like this.

THE leading opponent to the introduction of ethics classes in NSW schools, the Anglican Church, has reversed its position and says they should be retained, while the Catholic Church now argues they should not be removed as they have ''little impact'' on the teaching of scripture.

>.< Why Fred, why? By making the the ethics classes a different time, there are still kids whose parents won't consent to scripture and they'll still need an alternative.

so for fred nile ethics and freedom to choose how you want to be educated are immoral (opposition to ethics classes) but guns are entirely moral (hence his alliance with the shooters and fishers party).

Just in case you guys missed it, he wants to make it illegal for you to own pornography

So next time Mr. O'Farrell wants to push through some much-needed reform to save NSW your right to look at legal pornography made by consenting adults could be GONE

Note that O'Farrell hasn't actually agreed to scrap the classes. He's only agreed that Nile's bill will be considered by the Liberal party room and cabinet.
