Tim Dixon.

I saw him on Mouthing Off on Foxtel last night (some discussion show hosted by Richard Fiedler, that episode was from 1998) talking about privacy in relation to security cameras. I've got no idea why he was on that show but I kept looking at him thinking "isn't he that guy on the back cover of those economics textbooks?" It turned out that the answer was yes.

Oh, and good to see the moderators changed the title of this thread so that it is not misleading. Dr Alan Fels would be proud of their work! :)

isn't Alan Fels "structurally unemployed"?

He's still in charge at the ACCC until July when he's quiting, at which point he will go back to Monash University where he used to work as an economics professor.

And my comment was more a reference to the Trade Practices Act which forbids "misleading or deceptive conduct".

uugghh, damn you minai. That was a major selling point!!

Anyway, just to re-divert this thread back to the focal point, my tution; I must say the response has been quite miserable. All of two people have responded to me!!

I'm not sure what else I can add to the ad to get more responses. The price per lesson is depended on how many people there are interested. At this stage, the maximum price is $35/1.5hrs, which, from my extensive market research, is the cheapest economics tution in Sydney! It could go down to as low as $30/1.5hrs depending on the response.

Once again, I'll add my email address: neewig@hotmail.com, and my phone number: 9807 4164 (don't worry 'sukiyaki' - i haven't received any threats yet, let alone a call for economics tution), and icq #:41619495.

Please respond!! (yes, I'm down on my knees!)
