all in all i thought it was a very tough but fair exam. as you can see i left slightly early lol! :), but other than that i think the page i wrote for both essay 1 and 2 should hold be in good stead for a band 6. im hoping raw mark somewhere in the high 90s/100, howd you guys go with it?. and did anyone find the second essay question as hard as i did? i nearly fell of my chair lol! :)

Easiest Exam Ever! Our trial was soooo much harder! I finished after an hour and 10 minutes. Looking at mid to high 90s.

Holy crap. Talk about easy. This was the best ancient paper that I have ever seen. Thankyou BOS, very muchly. Pompeii was the hardest section for me as well. Lol, Hatshepsut and NKE questions, so awesome. Sparta, again awesomeness. And to think, I was stressing about this yesterday. Pffft.

I did:
Sparta
Hatshepsut
NKE to death of Thut IV

Exactly the same Sam_slack. I thought it was awesome.

Questions were

Hatshepsut:

Assess relationship with Thumose III

Assess achievements

Pompeii:

How water is stored / used

Religion

Changing methodology of archaeologists

Sparta:

Role of the Army

Religious festivals were the two main questions.

To Death of Thut IV:

Assess importance of Hyksos

Assess importance of Military campaigns (<3)

<3 BOS thanks for the good exam.

SECTION III: AKHENATEN
SECTION IV: NEW KINGDOM EGYPT FROM AMENHOTEP III - RAMESSES II

For me that was much easier then the trials, I'm hoping for at least 85 + so for me it was a good exam I finished half an hour early so i had time to go through and add some extra stuff I might have forgotten. For me the hardest was section I and the easiest was a toss between Section 2 and Section 4 :)

SECTION I: POMPEII & HERCULANEUM
SECTION II: Athenian society in the time of Pericles
SECTION III: AKHENATEN
SECTION IV: NEW KINGDOM EGYPT FROM AMENHOTEP III - RAMESSES II

oh god im happy, that was so simple compared to modern it was so easy. hyksos for new kingdom was great, hatshepsut was great too. i thought pompeii wasnt heaps hard and sparta i thought was the hardest section, ironic since i thought it would be the easiest.

i hoping for band 6, 90/100 :D

I agree, so much better than trials. Won't get a fantastic mark but this morning I was predicting 30%, now at least over 50. I did Pompeii (obviously), Minoans, Xerxes, Greek World 500-440

Pretty good exam, nothing especially shocking.
The questions in the extended sections were very close to the main things we studied, which was handy.
I did section 1 last so it threw me a bit, the changing methodology of archaeology was not somethign we studied.

Oh I do
Section 2: Sparta
Section 3: Caesar
Section 4: Fall of the republic

Anybody else do Rome or Caesar?

You did both questions?
lol.
Yes i Found Essay no2. Very hard.
So i didnt do it.
A was easier.
But very very broad.
Not specific enough,
think i did quite well in general =]
Pompeii + Herc was real good =]
Sparta was good =]
(except i jumbled up the religious festivals =[ )
Agrippina was quite good questions.
And what i said about the essay above.
Im aiming for a band 6.
Was hopign for about 96
But now ill be happy with 90 + =]

yeah i did rome and caesar. I thought the questions were easy, especially the political and military success of Pompey.

Reasonably happy with that one, managed to write a heap down so I reckon a good band 6 is on the cards.

I thought Pompeii was simple, actually

I might lose a mark for the fountain thing though, hopefully not
