"it had filled me with sublime ecstasy, that gave wings to the soul, and allowed it to soar from the obscure world to light and joy

This is a line from Mary Shelly's Frankenstein I've got a fair idea on how i want to use it however i'm not sure what to call it. Is it just a simple metaphor?
