Hi, need some classification.

Discuss the ability of the particle theory in explaining the photo electric effect.
Explain the particle and wave theory.
How did Einstein explain the photoelectric effect.

waves carry particle-like photons. Each photon carries a specific amount of energy. A wave is a stream of these photons.Einstein said that if waves consist of photons then a certain amount of energyis required to lift electrons from the valence band. This energy is proportional to the frequency of the wave. Hence, a certain frequency is neccesary to remove electrons. Any remaining energy is coverted to the kinetic energy of the electrons, therfore any waves with a higher frequency give extra kinetic energy or velocity to the electrons emmited.
