i was reading through some notes i found on bored of studies and it says that

"fish do not excrete nitrogenous wastes through the kidneys; they use their gills"

is this true? i thought they excreted nitrogenous wastes through the gills AS WELL AS the kidneys.

and does anybody have good examples of 'responses of named Australian ectothermic and endothermic organisms'?

are responses of ectothermic organisms always behavioural? :mad1:

(1-viii) Compare responses of named Australian ectothermic and endothermic organisms to changes in the ambient temperature and explain how these responses assist temperature regulation.
Endotherm- Organisms which control temperature with feedback mechanisms (internally) Ectotherm- Organisms without feedback system therefore controlling their temperature through behavioural and/or structural adaptations
Bilby → Endotherm → Regulates temperature by-
Digging Spiral holes- Protecting it from directs heat of the sun
Been Nocturnal- Avoids activity during high heat
Large ears (SA: Volume) - Containing many blood vessels which vasodilate.

Bearded Dragon → Ectotherm → Regulates temperature by-
Releasing MHS (Melanxyte Stimulating hormone) from its pituitary gland.
In little light/heat MHS causes the skin pigment to darken → ↑ Heat Absorption.
In excessive light/heat MHS causes the skin pigment to blanch → ↓ Heat Absorption
