I've done a lot of searching and haven't been able to find something that explicitly states what the BOS says about outliers.
Say in a class of 5, the person ranked 1st is 15-20% ahead of 2nd and 3rd, in terms of unmoderated assessment marks. The gap between 2nd & 3rd is 1%, 3rd & 4th is 5%, 4th & 5th is 10%

If the external marks come out to be 95,90,90,80,60,
a) would the person ranked 1st be dealt with separately, meaning 2nd & 3rd both get their external marks of 90 for their moderated assessment marks, or
b) would 2nd and 3rd be dragged down because the relative gap between them and 4th internally is smaller than that of the external gap between them?

a.no
b.Yes your assessment mark is going to be pretty bad.

Sounds like wishful thinking.

So there's really no such thing as outliers being dealt with separately?
