ok, so its my old computer... its a piece of shit to put it nicely. but the other day it started doing this thing where it cant detect drive A then wont start up. now its doing some other shit saying i need to install some other gay files or something.

BUT that aside, i really dont care about the computer (unless this sort of thing is really easily fixed)... all i *really* want is to be able to get all the important stuff off the hard drive to this computer.

im pretty sure the old one is IDE... and on this pc i have SATA II hdd's. Is that going to be an issue? im not much of a nerd so i have no idea whether my motherboard will like it? and if it is possible... what exactly do i have to do to get that hard drive accessible on this pc!?!

muchos love in advance

4. Name the subject of your new topic according. “Help!!!” doesn’t assist anyone in finding it at a later stage. “Sound card problem” does.
You could have saved me alot of time if your title was "recovering HDD data" "or floppy drive startup error"

Ive never tried to do what you are suggesting and i wouldnt even think its possible, maybe someone with more knowledge here could help. In your position the first thing i would do would be to hook it up to a friends computer or an old one laying around.
