how to handle files of the form .DOCX ? (1 Viewer)

so when im downloading stuff from this website, i constantly get files of this form... so how do i deal with them, how do i open them and see the notes inside ... and one more thing, the .DOCX appears to be a Zip file, with a bunch of XML files inside ... plz tell me how to handle that

.DOCX are Microsoft Word files.

If you are using an very old version of word, ensure you have the following installed: Download details: Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint File Formats

Yes i know that, and i do have them installed, but when i download them (.DOCX files), they show up as a zip file, with a bunch of XML files inside ... what should i do ..

I'm guessing maybe your file associations are wrong? As in, your computer may have been set up to open these .docx files with the wrong program. Try right clicking on the file and click 'open with', try microsoft word.
