people say they do hours of studying but what do they mean by studying
do you just write notes for the syllabus and then just read over them?

I advise my students to study by structuring their notes as question and answer so that they can:

1. test themselves on the notes (read the question, cover the answer)

2. Do past papers (available from school or board of studies website)

It does depend a little on your learning style though, this works for the majority of students

I just wrote notes from the syllabus, read over them, and then answered questions.

I don't like answering questions. I just do 45 mins - 1 hour a day. Last 10 - 15 days before the exam (So about now, tomorrow) i'll increase to about 2-4 hours a day. Because it interests me i can absorb so much info within a small amount of time.

Good luck i hope it works out mate;;
