I seem to really struggle with the english ext common module where you generally have to write a narrative in the perspective of the set character... so does anyone have any tips? Also does anyone have any resources for english ext; like trial papers from other schools?

Write a novel, it will give you practice

just do heaps of past papers and practice writing, get these marked as well from a teacher or tutor. if you don't have any just make up a question- take an extract from a random story + try to imitate the author's writing style. overtime you'll get a feel for what will maximise ur marks (eg unique structures/form, heaps of language techniques).
