Ok...so im currently yr 10 and was aiming for an atar of 99+, at least 97+.
Suppose my ranks within the subjects that im going to be studying for prelims next year are:
advanced eng - 50/150
maths ext 1 - 10/70
physics - 35/80
biology - 30/80
ancient history - 8/20
school rank - 32ish

what would my rough hypothetical atar be and wat ranks do i need to get 99+?

Don't think so, needs improvement atleast for the sciences to top 20 and english maybe top 20-30ish also

OMG just stop, year 10 subjects wont matter, and I bet you that you're not even trying in year 10.

The amount people improve from year 10 to 12 is immense! people go from rank 90/120 to rank 5/120 for subjects because they focus

and keep your ranks as high as possible if you want 99+ stop worrying what, just as high as you humanely can.

no no...psychology is a 1 unit subject my school offers...and i was planning on choosing it for next year cause im interested in it...it doesnt go towards hsc mark...yr 11 exclusive

I remember when I was in the bottom half on English Advanced in Year 11... and then I said, "HSC time. TIME TO POWER UP AND HONE MY ASIAN SKILLS" and then I got 2nd as my final internal rank.

But yes, year 10 performance =/= year 12 performance.
