Can anyone give me tips on how to differentiate between different types of probability questions? :(

So, I've been doing past paper question and have been getting a lot of prob questions wrong. It's so confusing. I don't know when to use combinations, permutation or simple tree diagrams !! x( IT'S SO HARDDDDDDDDDDD, hoooooow do I tell the difference between them.. help please .. someone. thanks

If you are doing 2U you will never need Perms and Combs, if you are doing 3U you will most likely never need tree diagrams unless they ask for it or its avery simple question. Permutations means the amount of arrangements, that is the amount of ways you can arrange a set. Combinations are the amount of selections and as such order DOES NOT count

For example:

A B C

B A C

SAME Combination, DIFFERENT Permutation. So now you know what's the difference so you should be able to pick out what the question is asking for, when it asks no of selections/combinations etc they are asking for combinations, if number of arrangements, they are asking for permutations. Etc
