Hey, I'm about to start a research assessment task on 'identity' and haven't a clue on what artists to pick. Any ideas would help. All the other artists I've studied have gone out the window for this one.

Sorry to be not of much help, but as pretty much all art is personal, I'm sure you could devise something which linked identity to any artist.
And even if its not personal context than an artist draws on, whether it may be political issues or ... anything, the fact that they are concerned about it makes up their identity.
